I had the pleasure of working with Maxence at Coherent from September 2020 to October 2023. From the moment he joined, Maxence hit the ground running, quickly getting up to speed on our platform. His thorough and organized approach not only ensured he understood all requirements but also identified potential opportunities and issues.

Maxence’s dedication and expertise soon saw him become the UX lead for our hero product. He faces challenges head-on and his holistic view, coupled with a detailed approach, allowed him to consider wider system implications when developing new features. This foresight enabled him to flag potential issues early, benefiting the entire project.

Working with global cross-functional teams, Maxence was always quick to respond to queries related to UX and UI, showcasing his excellent team player qualities. He consistently supported and mentored other team members, demonstrating a strong work ethic, hard work, and a constant drive to improve his skills. Maxence’s passion for UX and UI was evident in our many long discussions on the subject. During my adventures in Coherent, I had several occasions where I got to assist Max’s project. The way he handles ownership of his assigned product is beyond everybody’s expectation. He is well informed in every small details: backlog items, people involved in every team, on-going development tasks, batch of files, issues, challenges, and overall roadmap. Because of this,Max is very reliable to inquire about anything about his project.

One of the key quality of Max is his transparency in terms of alignment and communication. Even if he is working with multiple teams with higher priority, he is not hard to reach out for a quick call or chat conversation. During one on one briefing and alignments, he gives detailed context about the task and even provide a different view and potential solutions to design challenges. Every after meeting, he breaks down all the raised items and action items with target deadlines.

I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to work with Max, and I am entirely confident that any team fortunate enough to have him benefits from his exceptional skills.

I had the pleasure of working with him during our time at Coherent, collaborating on several complex projects. When he was tasked with creating the company’s comprehensive design system, Maxence really demonstrated his strong expertise in interaction, visual and accessibility design.

I was particularly impressed by his ability to clearly articulate his design vision, approach and status to cross-functional partners, leads and stakeholders through detailed prototypes and design specs.

During my time at Coherent, I was fortunate to collaborate with Max, who served as my Product Design Lead. Max is a highly organized and skilled designer who established an efficient and effective workplace, particularly on Figma. He implemented a system that allowed our team to document our work at various stages with an extensive ticketing system, which significantly improved transparency and minimized communication gaps.

Max also developed a clear annotation template that greatly enhanced communication between our design and development teams. His meticulous attention to detail and strong documentation skills were invaluable in fostering a more collaborative and efficient work environment.

Max consistently provided insightful feedback on various aspects of design, including flow, user interface, and copy. He balanced a rational approach with deep empathy, ensuring that the features we created were not only user-centric but also developer-friendly.

Additionally, Max empowered me to present my work directly to the CTO and guided me in crafting persuasive arguments by outlining different options with their respective pros and cons. His mentorship has been instrumental in my growth as a designer, and I am incredibly grateful for his support.

I worked with Maxence in Hong Kong at Accedo tv. Together, we had to deal with some of the toughest projects a designer can encounter. Even under tough conditions (indecisive clients, constant changes in the scope of the project, and with a not so clear internal project management direction) Maxence managed to design great user experiences, with a level of detail that impressed me and the team. He has a great eye for details and taste for high quality user interfaces. He is a pleasure to work with, even under the most stressful projects.

Honestly, I can’t say enough great things about Maxence! He is a great collaborator, UX designer, tech-savvy solution guy, UI designer, and the list goes on and on.
